Ward & Oehler, Ltd. is now Wagner Oehler, Ltd. as of January 1, 2021. Having served clients throughout Minnesota for over 45 years, we are excited to announce this change as we look to serve our clients for future generations.

Throughout our history, the name of the law firm has changed on a few occasions. First established in 1973 as Zeigler & Ward, Ltd. and later becoming Ward & Oehler, Ltd. in 1983. Robert Ward and Bill Oehler practiced together for the next 35 years, serving clients throughout Minnesota in the areas of farm law, real estate, estate planning, probate, and business law. Our recently retired office manager, Mary Lynn Schiltz, was an integral part of the success and growth of the firm since the beginning. Many clients from the early days of the firm (or even their children and granchildren) are still clients of the firm today - a testament to the high level of service and effective legal advice provided by Bill and Robert over the years.

In 2013, Jason Wagner joined the law firm and became a shareholder in 2016. With the retirement of Robert Ward in 2018, Bill Oehler and Jason Wagner have led the law firm for the past several years. Jason is now President of the firm, and Bill remains actively involved with his clients. Jason is active with estate planning and real estate transactions, and particularly enjoys working with multi-generational family farm operations throughout Minnesota. Bill serves as trusted counsel to both businesses and families, guiding and advising them through significant acquisitions, disputes, and exit strategies.

Alongside Bill and Jason, the firm now has four other attorneys, being Alyssa K. Jerde, Margaret Cook, Alec Osland, and Jennifer Gumbel. All of our attorneys work together to better serve our clients with deeper expertise in specific areas of the law, including medical assistance, guardianship/conservatorship, international estate planning, and commercial transactions. Our team of paralegals and support staff, being Dana Guderian, Becky Henry, Megan Glasrud, and Shannon Decker, ensure that our high professional and personal service standards are met for every client.

We are here to meet the needs of our clients for generations to come in our three offices located in Rochester, St. Charles, and Red Wing. We wish you the very best for the new year!
